Description

Briefly describe the job’s primary purpose or contribution to the department or the organization.The position is responsible for in-clinic patient processing and care, by providing information, medical services and assistance to patients, under the management of the Director of Special Procedures. All duties must be performed within established Company policies, procedures and/or parameters and and/or any laws governing the medical practices field.

Essential Functions:(Note: This the job detail will be used on internal and external job postings) The essential duties include (Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions):1. Verifies patient information by interviewing patient; recording medical history; confirming purpose of visit.2. Performs Urodynamic testing following department policies and procedures. Responsible for documenting all data into the EMR system for the physician to complete interpretation.3. Performs Pelvic Floor Biofeedback and PTNS therapy following department policies and procedures. Responsible for documenting all visit notes into the EMR and communicating with the physician.4. Performs Pessary Fittings and Insertions following department policies and procedures.5. Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records; documenting all work processes, completing diagnostic coding and procedure coding; keeping patient information confidential.6. Counsels patients by transmitting physician's orders and questions.7. Maintains cleanliness and appearance of work areas and exam rooms.8. Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt and re-stocking; as necessary.9. Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.10. Performs basic patient triage, as necessary must be able to recognize and respond appropriately to urgent/emergent situations per protocols.

Position Requirements

Education and/or Experience

Must have a High School Diploma or equivalentCandidate must possess both current Medical Assistant and (for Health Care Providers) Certifications.Minimum of 1 year experience in OB-GYN or Urology is preferred, but other medical experience will be considered.

LVN a plus; Medical Tech or Urology Techs will be given high consideration. Office environment experience is also preferred

Required Proficiencies or Specialized Knowledge

Must be knowledgeable in medical terminology and basic standardized practices; maintains a basic understanding of urology-related conditions, diseases and procedures.Maintains and promotes positive and professional working relationships with patients, physicians, co-workers, company management, other health care and hospital staff and vendorsPossesses excellent verbal and written communication, strong organization and basic computer skills.Must be able to work independently (after training) and is willing to study and learn new things.Maintains professional appearance and demeanor at all times.Possess ability to multi-task Must have the ability to multitask and pay close attention to detail.Must have the knowledge of medical office methods and procedures.

Special Position Requirements

(inter-office travel, security, risk, hazard or related special conditions which apply to this position) Inter-office travel may be required per site.Check with Administrator if any badges are required for parking, hospital security, etc.
