Responsibilities:
• Program, Set-up and Run CNC machines (lathes, mills, grinders)
• Use MasterCam programming software to create and optimize CNC programs
• Analyze job orders, drawings, blueprints, specifications, and design data to calculate dimensions, tool selection, machine speeds, and feed rates.
• Determine the sequence of machine operations and select the appropriate tools needed to meet specifications
• Conduct regular inspections of machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety
• Work closely with the manufacturing team to troubleshoot and solve production issues
• Assists with designing and writing machine programs and ensures program accuracy
• Inspects and deburrs parts to ensure they meet blueprint parts using proper measuring instruments.
• Maintains quality and safety standards, keeps records and maintains tools and supplies.
• Operates conventional mills and lathes, drill presses, band saws, and punch presses when needed.
• Assigned other tasks by management
• Follows all DG safety procedures as per company policies.
Minimum Qualifications
• High School Diploma/GED, Trade school preferred with working knowledge of CAD
• Minimum 5 years' experience as a Machinist with 2 years as a Programmer
• Tight tolerance experience (+/- .0001) preferred
• Experience with production processes such as cutting, molding, forming or assembly
• Experience using measuring instruments such as calipers and gauges.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to read and interpret complex blue prints as well as, ability to read G and M code
• Ability to cross-train and work in other areas
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to be able to work effectively as a team
