Overview

WAREHOUSE SPECIALIST (BAMC)

Bowhead seeks a Warehouse Specialist to join our team in supporting the Department of Logistics Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC) in Fort Sam Houston, TX.

Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance in the development of receiving, storing, selecting, and shipping medical and non-medical supplies and equipment. Load and unload materials, check, assemble, and process documents, and route materials and equipment to correct locations or customers.

  • Processes shipments of materiel by verifying correct item received and utilizing automated systems.

  • Verify that shipment is routed to appropriate end user.

  • Identify, processes and routes sensitive Class VIII materiel to include controlled substances,flammable, corrosive, and temperature sensitive medical products (TSMP) in timely manner according to manufacturer shipping instructions and hospital policy.

  • Warehouse, locate, access, load, and move material for distribution and assist in verifying or prepare documents either manually or by using automated equipment such as computer terminals and handheld terminals to read, store, track, and prepare material documentation.

  • Layout storage space, establishes item locations, determine organization and arrangement of stock, and identify high and low usage items according to organization regulations and procedures.

  • Performs location surveys and row maintenance to reconcile inventory with automated system.

  • Rotates stock to prevent loss of inventory and prepares placards with barcode labels as required.

  • Provide overall Logistics support to supported activities and able to operate government vehicles and forklift with valid equipment operating certifications and licensure for operating large stake bed trucks and operating forklifts within the warehouse

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Minimum of two years direct related experience.

• Preferred experience with material handling equipment (MHE) licensure required in forklift (up to 6K) and warehouse tractor (4K).

• Basic computer/PC knowledge required including; spreadsheet software, word processing software and knowledge of MS Office Suite.

• Must be proficient in reading, writing and speaking effectively in English.

• Knowledge of government specific tracking/database systems such as LMP, HKDB, ETIDS and FEDLOG highly desired (not required)

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds

• Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time

• Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Due to the location of this work a Secret clearacne and US Citizenship is required.
