The Control System Specialist position is a full-time position based out of Grande Praire, Fort St. John, or Calgary. As the Automation & Programming/Control Systems Specialist you would be expected to work in an office and field setting to provide exceptional service to oil and gas clients.

• Troubleshoot, upgrading, migration and or installation of SCADA, PLC and HMI Hardware for projects related to general maintenance or new construction facilities, including logic design and network configuration.

• Application of PLC Logic and related automation networks.

• Provide ongoing maintenance support for clients and hands on development for construction based projects.

• Prepare devices and I/O lists as well as construction support and commissioning assistance.

• 2-5 years’ of experience with Allen Bradley Controllogix, PLC 5, Modbus, TCP/IP, DH+, SCADA and HMI Software.

• Strong initiative and willingness to learn and grow.

• Strong interpersonal skills, building positive and strong relationships with staff and clients.

• Familiarity with IT SCADA architectural standards.

• Highly proficient in Windows XP, Windows 7 and Windows Server 8.

• Strong organizational and documentation skills.

• Ability to learn new technology and keep up to speed.

• Exceptional trouble shooting and problem solving skills.

• An analytical thinker with a logical thought process.

• Must be able to manage multiple tasks.

• Valid Driver’s license

• Instrument Engineering Technology Diploma

• Electrical Engineering Technology Diploma

• Automated System Engineering Technology Diploma

• Electrical Engineering (EIT OR P.Eng)

• Journeyman Instrument Mechanic/Electrician with extensive Automation experience
