Sioux Manufacturing Inc Student Intern in Fort Totten, North Dakota

POSITION SUMMARY Sioux Manufacturing Corporation is seeking an aspiring college student at the junior or senior level to fill a student intern position. The position will learn the responsibilities of various positions under the supervision of our management team, and employees. This position will be a temporary position as defined by the length of the internship. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Work in an assigned department(s) of the organization to gain the knowledge and tools necessary to apply for a future position within SMC or earn college credit. This will include completing training within the companys various departments, giving the intern a view of the many facets of the organization, as well as the positions, relationships and departments that allow it to be successful. Learn the internal policies and practices of the organization. Spend time observing experienced staff of the organization to learn about the necessary methods and procedures. Learn about the inner workings of the different departments of the organization. Communicate with various members of the organization. Learn about SMCs history to gain a good understanding of the organization. Develop general knowledge of manufacturing operations with understanding of day-to-day workings. Correctly, follow standard procedures, policies, and work processes pertaining to the department or position that have been assigned and working on. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES Student could be assigned a specific project as defined by the student class requirements. Continually keep work areas clean and free of safety hazards. Other duties as assigned by your department mentor.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. POSITION REQUIREMENTS Willingness to learn the manufacturing functions of SMC. Ability to successfully work and handle multiple tasks. Good attention to detail and organizational skills. Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective operations for the safety of people, property, and Sioux Manufacturing. Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, statistics, and their applications. Ability to manage your own time and be aware of the time of others. Position requires being pleasant with others on the job, displaying a cooperative attitude. Position requires being reliable, responsible, dependable, and fulfilling obligations. COMPUTER SKILLS Common office and department computer programs, such as desktop software, Microsoft Office Suite, Human Resources / timekeeping, machine specific, ERP, work-related phone apps. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Required: College student at the junior or senior level.
