Cardiovascular Special Procedures Technician

Fast-paced, high volume Cardiac Cath Lab department is looking for top skilled Techs. Is that you?

Work location: Texas Health Fort Worth: 1301 Pennsylvania Ave., Fort Worth, TX 76104

Work hours: Full-time (40 hours/week), day shift. Call, weekend and holiday requirements

Cardiac Cath Lab Department highlights:

  • Fast-Paced, high-volume department

  • Team oriented department

  • Must live within 30 minutes of hospital for call

Our dedicated and progressive team in our Cath Lab department cares for adult patients with Cardiac, Peripheral Vascular or Electrophysiology related disease. We are open 24/7 weekdays and our lab includes six (6) suites and we average 20 cases per day.

We are a Mission: Lifeline® Receiving Center, Joint Commission certified in chest pain, heart failure and stroke and Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) for echocardiography and vascular testing.

Here’s What You Need

Education:

  • Associate Degree in Applied Science required or

  • Completion of an accredited program in radiologic or cardiovascular technology required or

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and two (2) years work experience in invasive cardiology required

Experience:

  • One year experience preferred – two (2) years Cath Lab experience strongly preferred

Licenses and Certifications:

  • ARRT American Registry of Radiologic Technologists upon hire required or

  • RCIS Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist upon hire required or

  • RCES Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist upon hire required

  • CMRT Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist (if ARRT) upon hire required and

  • BCLS Basic Cardiac Life Support (prior to providing independent patient care) maintained quarterly required

What You Will Do

Delivers care to patients utilizing the nursing process:

  • Assesses the patient and recognizes emotional, physical, developmental, cognitive and psychosocial conditions

  • Prepares room for examination

  • Checks physician orders and exam requisitions using time-out procedures

  • Handles patients with IVs, oxygen, chest tubes or other devices, and monitor patient during imaging

  • Administers contrast media and other medications in accordance with medication administration guidelines

  • Performs complex procedures and adjusts technique parameters

  • Processes and manipulates images, analyzes image quality, troubleshoots, make technique adjustments or repeat procedures as needed
