Advocates Jail Diversion Program Supervisor in Framingham, Massachusetts
The Jail Diversion Program Supervisor is accountable for supporting the Jail Diversion Program Director with the clinical and operational oversight of the Jail Diversion Program. This includes providing crisis intervention services, modeling practices that promote the community-based, customer service focused mission, and training and supervising program staff.

Minimum Education Required
Provide psychiatric and substance abuse evaluation of individuals and families in crisis.
Provide initial crisis intervention services to individuals in need, along with crisis case management and short-term crisis counseling as follow-up from initial intervention, when appropriate.
Provide oversight of clinical and operational aspects of the jail diversion program, ensure follow up is coordinated from previous shifts, coordinate training of new clinicians, and complete administrative tasks as necessary.
Maximize staffing patterns by focusing on recruiting, developing, cross-training and retaining talented staff.
Maintain linkages with law enforcement and community agencies by providing documented case consultation, program development and problem resolution.
Develop and deliver mental health training for law enforcement agencies.
Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of managed care and health insurance systems; provide other clinicians with managed care information and resources pertinent to the crises being managed.
Assist staff in prioritizing client-centered, transparent interventions that aim to be responsive to the needs of the whole person.
Respond to individuals in crisis with creative approaches to offer individuals the least restrictive level of care.
Provide information on treatment and referral services to individuals and families.
Provide clinical and administrative supervision of assigned staff, including training new clinicians as needed.
Maintain necessary documentation and records in accordance with program requirements.
Provide supervision to a case load of clinicians, including ongoing training and guidance to staff.
Provide JDP program on-call coverage by phone on nights and weekends to provide consultation and problem solving assistance.
Demonstrate a proactive commitment to maintaining effective communication with staff and customers to facilitate and promote effective working relationships and customer service.
Ensure that clinical services are being delivered in accordance with Advocates clinical philosophy and all licensing and regulatory bodies in coordination with PES Leadership and QM Teams.
Seek and create opportunities to collaborate across divisions.
Liaison to other community providers and related agencies and develop community resources, as needed.
Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling Education, Forensic Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Rehabilitation Counseling or a related counseling field.
Massachusetts licensure in Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, or Psychologyor actively working toward licensure.
At least two years of experience with target population (inpatient, outpatient, residential acceptable), one year of which must be in a jail diversion program.
Must have working knowledge of current version of the American Psychiatric Association’s Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders.
