Crane 1 Services, Inc. Rebuild Technician in Franklin, Ohio
Reports to: Production Manager
The Rebuild/Repair Technician provides diagnostic and technical support to below-the-hook (BTH) or material-handling products brought in from the field. Ideally, Rebuild/Repair Technicians have a wide skill set including mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic experience that allows them to work on diagnosing, identifying, and repairing a variety of overhead material-handling equipment and components. The Rebuild Technician is self-motivated, with a sense of urgency, and is team-focused utilizing other employees’ strengths to complete jobs.
Rebuild/Repair Technician Role & Responsibilities
Perform teardowns, inspections, diagnostics, rebuilding, repairs, clean-up, and reassembly in accordance with in-house specifications.
Mechanical assembly/disassembly abilities and diagnostic skills.
Adhere to in-house specifications for inspection of work and using a full range of precision measuring and gauging tools required to perform the inspections.
Adhere to in-house specifications for the manufacture and fabrication of finished metal products.
Adhere to in-house specifications for the repair of various equipment and components.
Follow blueprints to meet product specifications.
Conduct tests to evaluate quality and tolerances to engineering drawings and in-house specifications.
Maintain organization of parts to make the rebuilding process smoother and more efficient.
Maintain and properly store shop tools and equipment.
Receiving/offloading incoming shipments and loading outbound shipments.
Local delivery to and pick-up of items from area vendors.
Surface preparation of structural items for painting.
Shop housekeeping.
Other duties as assigned.
Rebuild/Repair Technician Role Skills and Experience
KNOWLEDGE: Possess or can qualify for certification to AWS 14.1 requirements for SMAW (stick) and FCAW (flux core).
SKILLS:
Experience in the welding of fabrications and performing weld repairs to various components comprised of a variety of types/grades of steel in accordance with AWS Code requirements and in-house specifications.
Experience with the mechanical disassembly, evaluation, and reassembly of equipment and sub-assemblies.
Ability to read and understand blueprints and other paperwork related to the work order.
Experience with the operation of overhead cranes and forklifts.
Familiarity with a wide range of common hand, power, commercial and industrial tools.
3-phase motor control experience is a plus.
Must possess strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Strong data entry and computer skills
