We are looking for a talented Manufacturing Leader to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our BUSINESS SEGMENT Minneapolis MN your remote home office.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways.

  • Provides operations leadership for small or medium size warehouse or Distribution Center, shift or department. Manages one or multiple shifts of warehouse operations including transportation and packaging. Provide safe working environment for all Cummins and contract employees. Ensure internal and external customer requirements are met through the Cummins Operating System.

  • Provides operations leadership and improvement focus for warehouse operations including transportation and packaging operations driving results, creating and monitoring measures, providing motivation, and setting expectations in safety, quality, production and cost.

  • Communicates with customers, suppliers, shop floor, stakeholders, and staff.

  • Leads annual operating plan, forecasts, and other measurements for Parts Distribution Center operations.

  • Manage and develop supply chain capability; work with employees to set goals in training and development, performance, and career planning.

  • Set the aim for the organization and ensure individual work plans are consistent with supply chain initiatives.

  • Responsible for ensuring Cummins values are demonstrated in the site. This includes championing diversity, community involvement and right environment initiatives.

  • Manage daily operations across functions to ensure a dependable and efficient supply chain.

  • Lead continuous improvement projects that align with Cummins Operating System and Functional Excellence direction and leverage common processes tools, and information systems.

  • Support Corporate Supply Chain initiatives and lead the cross Business Unit planning processes to ensure intra-company alignment.

  • Create common supply chain processes and procedures by establishing collaborative business partner relationships.

  • Approach daily problem solving and continuous improvement opportunities strategically and tactically to achieve performance targets.

  • Develop, understand and improve necessary Key Performance Indicators.

  • Analyze operational trends and develop corrective action plans.

  • Address supply chain failures promptly to ensure operations stability; escalate as appropriate.

  • Prepare and manage an annual operating plan including expense resources, and capital.

  • Manage, coach, and develop staff; work with employees to set goals in training and development, performance, and career planning.

  • Warehouse Operations - Utilizes warehousing tools, systems, and methodologies to meet defined metrics for inbound and outbound operations of a warehouse.

  • Trade Knowledge Application - Applies knowledge of relevant trade regulations to Cummins processes and systems to minimize trade risks and costs.

  • Supply Chain Knowledge - Influences, with the ability to concisely explain and/or elaborate on, the multi-disciplined and end-to-end integration of the flow of information, products, and services to achieve the desired result for the end customer within the first-fit or aftermarket business segments while balancing the tensions of inventory, cost, and delivery.

  • Project Management - Establishes and maintains the balance of scope, schedule and resources for a temporary effort (a "project").

  • Optimizes work processes - Knowing the most effective and efficient processes to get things done, with a focus on continuous improvement.

  • Mode Selection - Evaluates and selects appropriate transportation mode and equipment type by lane through shipment volume analysis against business requirements to provide optimal shipping method (balance cost, quality and time).

Education, Licenses, Certifications

College, university, or equivalent degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related subject required. MBA preferred.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience

  • Moderate level of relevant work experience required.

  • This is a 3rd shift, normal shift hours will be 11pm to 7am.

  • This role is responsible for entire Fridley Plant 3rd shift operations.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience, range: $74,800-$112,200. Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate’s qualifications and experience, where appropriate. Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan, Cash Balance Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, Domestic Partners Coverage, and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.
