Job Overview

Job Title: Electrical Equipment Maintenance Technician - Day Shift

Trades Qualified Electrical or equivalent qualification with 5 + years' experience in manufacturing environment

Reporting to the Equipment Group working as part of the Equipment Sustaining Engineering Team

Job Responsibilities

  • Electrical and Mechanical trouble-shooting

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical components, panels, and systems

  • Ensure that all electrical systems are maintained in good and safe condition

  • Electro-mechanical repairs to high-speed, PLC-controlled plant, equipment, also pneumatic and hydraulic control systems

  • Input to and carry out Preventive & Predictive Maintenance Routines

  • Support Production Team in achieving targets

  • Closely monitor line and machine performance and intervene on line as soon as any deterioration in performance occurs

  • To be observant & work off your own initiative when a fault is detected & to take action based on your best judgment on whether to effect immediate repair or not

  • Engage with Equipment Design and Build teams to gain a thorough understanding of equipment functionality and engage with commissioning team on equipment testing during build phase

Additional Responsibilities

  • Ensure goals and objectives are met and understood by effective communication, building an atmosphere of openness, honesty and flexibility with individuals and within the team environment.

  • Manage external relationships with Technology providers / Suppliers.

  • Ensure that all Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are fulfilled Researching solutions to existing process problems

Key Requirements

  • Excellent communication, planning and organisational skills.

  • A demonstrated ability to solve problems with innovative and cost-effective solutions.

  • Strong hands-on automation background

  • Working Knowledge of MS Office Suite including Word, Excel and Project

What your background should look like:

  • Trades Qualified Electrical or equivalent qualification with 5 + years' experience in manufacturing environment

  • Demonstrated ability to root cause equipment faults/issues in a logical manner

  • Demonstrated ability in the use of technical documents and tools to resolve equipment issues

  • Strong technical background and capabilities.

  • Knowledge of pneumatic system, mechanical motion systems & electrical drive systems.

  • Experience in programming IEC 61131 compliant PLC language

  • Motivated to work on own initiative and the ability to make and implement decisions.
