Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Procurement and Sourcing Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling the end-to-end procurement process for both the Lab Products Division (LPD) and the Lab Chemical Division (LCD), including third-party procurement. This role ensures the timely and cost-effective acquisition of high-quality laboratory products and chemicals. The position demands a strategic problem solver with excellent negotiation skills and a deep understanding of supply chain management within these sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Sourcing and Procurement:

  • Develop and implement effective sourcing strategies to ensure a reliable supply of lab products and chemicals, aligning with ThermoFisher Scientific’s global sourcing strategies.

  • Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with key suppliers and third-party vendors for both LPD and LCD.

  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to secure helpful deals, ensuring compliance with ThermoFisher Scientific’s policies and standards.

  • Supplier Management:

  • Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with quality standards, delivery schedules, and contractual obligations across LPD and LCD.

  • Handle supplier risk and develop contingency plans to mitigate supply chain disruptions.

  • Cost Management:

  • Analyze market trends and conduct cost analysis to find opportunities for cost savings and value improvement within LPD and LCD.

  • Develop and maintain a cost reduction roadmap, tracking and reporting savings achieved.

  • Inventory and Supply Chain Optimization:

  • Collaborate with internal partners to forecast demand and handle inventory levels effectively for LPD and LCD.

  • Optimize procurement processes to improve efficiency, reduce lead times, and enhance overall supply chain performance.

  • Compliance and Reporting:

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements in all procurement activities.

  • Prepare and present regular reports on procurement performance, supplier metrics, and cost savings to senior management.

  • Team Leadership:

  • Lead and mentor a team of procurement specialists, fostering a culture of continuous improvement using PPI business system and professional development.

  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to drive procurement projects and initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in procurement and sourcing and supply chain, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.

  • Consistent track record of successfully managing third-party procurement and supplier relationships.

  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and critical thinking skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external partners.

  • Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems. Experience with JD Edwards (JDE) EnterpriseOne or SAP is a plus.

  • Knowledge of industry regulations, quality standards, and best practices in procurement and supply chain management.
