JOB REQUIREMENTS: We are looking for an Electrical Automation and Control Technician to work onsite in Clayton, Iowa for our surface and underground mine operation. This position works directly with our maintenance manager and is responsible for maintaining mine and production equipment, programming and troubleshooting PLC programs, installing and maintaining security camera systems, and repairing and maintaining remote network equipment across the mine site. This position requires a responsible individual with great attention to detail and safety. Primary Responsibilities Programming and troubleshooting PLC systems utilized for production equipment control. Maintaining and installing electrical control systems for use with mining equipment to improve performance and product quality. Apply the use of automation products to increase production capacity, improve quality, reduce waste and provide a safer working environment. Provide Electrical safety solutions for manufacturing equipment to guard against operator injury or equipment damage. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and ladder logic. Execute electrical wiring plans. Perform job safety analysis for every task or project being completed. Comply with all policies, procedures, and housekeeping practices. Communicate effectively with operation and maintenance personnel. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Must have the ability to: Have full understanding of multiple PLC and HMI programming software packages to create programs for machine control. Have working knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers, operator interface devices, industrial computer products, distributed I/O and wiring systems and how to apply them for use in manufacturing equipment. Have an understanding of the National Electric Code and how it relates to manufacturing facilities. Work safely around electrical and process/mine equipment. Demonstrated proficiency in interpreting diagrams, ladder logic, and schematics. Problem-solving skills to diagnose issues and devise solutions Observational skills to identify potential problems during routine observations. Strong organizational skills. Communicate well with Management, Engineering staff, and Production Employees to derive the best possible solutions. Work up to 10-hour shifts. Stand for 6-10 hours on uneven sandy/rocky surfaces and bend or stoop. Demonstrate high safety standards for self and others. Written communication skills to keep accurate, easy-to-understand reports. Wear a half-mask respirator.
