Geneva General Dermatology is currently seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to join our team in a fast-paced, progressive Dermatology office!. We are looking for a motivated, energetic and reliable person who can go above and beyond with our patients. Great customer service skills and a desire to serve patients and their families in our communities is a must.

Responsibilities include providing compassionate patient support and care, attention and assistance to patients, family members, visitors, providers and co-workers, rooming and prepping patients for their visit, assisting with procedures and medical documentation. Must be a team player with the ability to multi-task.

  • POSITION SUMMARY:

  • Specifically, the Medical Assistant provides care to adolescent, adult and geriatric patients and assists with medical care under the supervision of the Physician or Physician Extender. While under the supervision of the Physician or Physician Extender, the Medical Assistant obtains clinical intake information. Performs dressing changes and assists with in-office procedures and exams, and arranges for community care and diagnostic tests as needed. The Medical Assistant maintains the flow of patients through the practice in concert with the clerical and other nursing staff. The Medical Assistant coordinates surgical appointments and associated pre-certifications.

  • QUALIFICATIONS:

  • EDUCATION:

  • Minimum:

  • High school degree or equivalent.

  • Preferred:

  • Graduate from an accredited school for Medical Assistants or prior experience.

  • LICENSE:

  • PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Preferred:

  • Certification obtained from a Medical Assistant School licensed by New York State

  • WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Preferred:

  • Prior experience in a physician office or other medical setting.

  • SKILLS:

  • Minimum:

  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and ability to deal with the public in a professional and courteous manner.

  • Ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities and enhance the spirit of teamwork through effective role modeling.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organization skills.

  • Computer literacy.

  • Preferred:

  • Experience with Microsoft Office products and electronic medical record.

  • Salary Range: $17.61-$19.22
