As a Help Desk Administrator at Horizon, you will…

  • Provide first level technical support for Horizon Health Services staff utilizing IT Service Request (Help Desk) portal for computer and EHR systems during normal business hours and within the on-call schedule.

  • Provide IT Support relating to technical issues involving Microsoft applications and operating systems

  • Provide IT Support relating to first line operations involving Cerner clinical operations

  • Assist second-level application and infrastructure support in investigating and resolving issues related to the IT infrastructure and EHR clinical applications.

  • Administration of user accounts in both Active Directory and EHR clinical application users including user account maintenance and rights granting and removal as directed by written procedure.

  • Troubleshoot, document and resolve issues in a timely manner for assigned projects.

  • Maintain inventory for all computerized hardware, software and licenses

  • Perform daily monitoring using the remote monitoring system for alerts and notifications and respond accordingly through IT Service Requests – disk space, hardware failure, utilization, etc.

  • Perform and/or oversee software and application development, installation, and upgrades

  • Be responsible for all desktop cable management and hardware support

  • Implement and support all presentation-based technologies including projectors, A/V equipment and software

  • Maintain and support of corporate VOIP system and phone infrastructure

  • Maintain corporate data backup policy including disk rotation and images

  • Be responsible for installation, configuration, management and support of company printers, copiers, faxing

  • Manage, test and deploy security patches for desktop infrastructure

  • Basic Active Directory support including new users, modifications and terminations of accounts & groups

  • Systems documentation including end user, training material and process & procedure

  • Maintain confidentiality regarding the information being processed, stored or accessed on the network

  • Research, recommend and install computerized enhancements that optimize network availability

  • Provide timely user notifications as it relates to IT Service Request and system maintenance

  • Provides necessary on- site support to all locations

  • Participate in 24x7 IT Support

  • Involved in off hours Monthly Maintenance of servers, networking devices, technology infrastructure

  • Have a solid understanding of Windows Desktop computers and operating systems

  • Excellent understanding of Microsoft Office suites

  • Have a willingness to learn about healthcare information technology and software support

  • Have a understanding of Desktop and Server hardware support; CPU, memory, and disk maintenance

  • Have the ability to troubleshoot computer related support issues

  • Have the ability to communicate complex technical issues effectively to users, second-level technical support, and vendors.

  • Have a diagnosis skill of technical, software and access issues

  • Have strong interpersonal and communications skills; capable of writing proposals or papers, acting as a vendor liaison, making presentations to customers or client audiences or professional peers, and working closely with upper management

Location:

This position is located at 55 Dodge Rd, Getzville NY 14068

Hours:

Monday-Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm (flexible) during training period. After training period is over, the schedule can move to a 4-day work week, 7:00am-5:30pm. Adjustable with managers decision.

Compensation

Horizon is consistently evaluating our compensation and benefit packages to ensure we remain competitive. This position starts at an hourly rate of $17.00-$21.63. Compensation adjustments are evaluated annually.

Physical demands associated with this position include:

  • Sitting for extended periods, alternating between standing and sitting

  • Mobility required with repetitive wrist, hand, and finger movements

  • Handling light duties, occasionally lifting objects up to 20 pounds
