Our physician led medical group enjoys an excellent reputation with patients and the medical community, offering primary care, urgent care and more than 30 different specialties. _Job Description_ HHCMG Referral Coordinator is responsible for new patient referrals being sent to the Digestive Health Center internally and externally. Patients will be contacted and scheduled according to their location preferences and digestive health needs. Schedules will be reviewed daily to review for openings to get patients from the waiting list or reschedule list scheduled sooner in order to ensure providers have a full schedule. Each referral will be reviewed for completeness, ensure the referral meets the Digestive Health Center guidelines for an appointment. Coordinator must properly communicate with front desk staff, providers, and managers in each office. Referral coordinators frequently interact with patients, doctors, and insurance companies. Coordinator will be expected to have experience with customer service tasks and the ability to maintain patient records and confidentiality, manage multiple schedules, and ensure that patient information is complete and up to date. Referral coordinator will be expected to complete prior authorizations when required by insurance companies. * Registers and schedules patients * Collaborates and communicates with the Digestive Health Center teams to ensure continuity of medical care, to include obtaining, clarifying, validating referral requests and scheduling all referral orders. * Assists with the creation of standard work for referral coordination. * Responds to all requests (email, website, phone, other) and inquiries to best coordinate a patient’s appointment and needs. * Maintains referral work queue in a timely manner, update and closes referrals as appropriate. * Reviews referring documents for accuracy and adherence to regulatory compliance. * Consistently communicates with the Digestive Health Center Manager(s) to make sure all issues and problems are seamlessly handled so that both the patient and the referral sources are satisfied with the result and process. * Responds to internal and external communication timely and accurately. * Participates in meetings and performance improvement activities to ensure cost-effective utilization of resources within own control and to provide quality service to organization through communication, cooperation and collaboration. * Perform other related duties as required * Travel required between offices as needed. * High School Diploma or higher preferred * Minimum of 1 year as a medical receptionist or previous care coordination experience * Direct customer service in the medical field preferred We take great care of careers.
