Job Description Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Materials Fulfilment Leader, within our Dowty Propellers business.

This is a critical role within Dowty which is fundamental to linking cross functional teams within the business. You will lead a small team and be able to clearly communicate business goals/programs/processes for an area or business segment. In this role you will utilise your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.

You will be comfortable working closely and presenting to Senior Leaders within the business. This is an excellent development opportunity for an ambitious individual with proven experience in manufacturing supply chain.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Communicate and coordinate material status, 13-week production plan and priorities, and delivery commitments across organizations to meet schedule requirements and customer demands

  • Identify all critical hardware shortages & monitor implementation of corrective action plans

  • Monitor performance to plan and take pro-active action to solve problems and mitigate risk in meeting the plan

  • Liaise with Customer Programs Teams to ensure timely management of product holds in order to minimise Finished Goods Inventory

  • Develop strategy to optimise use of vendor managed inventory & other key materials management strategies

  • Analyse data and collaborate with Operations team, Demand Management, & Planning team, customer services reps and all sources of supply to perform optimization simulation and recovery scheduling

  • Understand, Develop and Enhance current processes, through the use of data, to improve processes across the business to reduce material shortages & improve delivery performance whilst adhering to financial inventory objectives

  • Provide leadership to a team of production controllers and material controllers to ensure business objectives are being met

  • Focal for OTD & Delinquency reporting both internally to Dowty but also to the wider aviation teams

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Proven experience in a material planning or project management role in a manufacturing environment.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

  • Knowledge and experience of Oracle ERP or another ERP system

Desired Characteristics

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college

  • Experience in the aerospace or similar industry

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and establish effective work priorities

  • Prior experience in production control or planning, supervision, sourcing, or a materials control environment is preferred

  • Team player with ability to work effectively in all environments

  • Proven analytical ability

  • Strong problem-solving skills, sound judgment, and diplomacy

  • Ability to execute planning and scheduling activities for assigned part numbers using advanced planning system

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
