Last Mile Health Monitoring & Evaluation Specialist in Grand Bassa & Rivercess, Liberia

The Role

At Last Mile Health (LMH), we dig for evidence and data. Do you have experience providing technical support for the monitoring and evaluation (M&E) of national and subnational community health programs? If so, you may be our next M&E Specialist, based in Grand Bassa or Rivercess County.
LMH partners with governments to design and refine community health policies and systems, upskill the community health workforce, and demonstrate effective community-based primary care to sustain responsive and resilient community health systems and improve health equity and outcomes in rural and remote communities.
This position is based in Grand Bassa (1) and Rivercess (1), Liberia, and is only open to candidates who are Liberian nationals currently located in Liberia.
What You'll Do
Support the Community Health Team ( CHT) in conducting timely collection and entry of monthly service reports (MSRs) by community health assistants (CHAs and Community Health Service Supervisors (CHSSs).
Work closely with the CHT, CHSSs, and CHAs to implement the annual National Community Health Program (NCHP) household registration and mapping process.
Support the CHT and MOH in strengthening and implementing county-level data quality assurance activities.
Support Electronic Community-Based Information System (eCBIS) training, implementation, and troubleshooting as needed.
Support the CHT in preparing for quarterly district data review meetings and bi-annual NCHP data review meetings.
Work with the CHT, MERL, NCHP, and others to analyze the data, identify gaps, and support discussion to address county-level gaps.
Build CHT M&E team and data clerk capacity in basic data analysis and data visualization, as needed.
Update the LMH county team’s indicator tracking table monthly and support the county office team in leading monthly data review meetings.
Contribute to biannual LMH Liberia program data review meetings.
Actively participate in the LMH Liberia program’s internal MERL technical working group and the LMH global MERL Community of Practice.
Support the Liberia MERL team in planning and implementing research, M&E, routine supervision, and learning activities in the county (e.g., Implementation Fidelity Initiative, project evaluations, and results dissemination meetings) as needed.
What You'll Bring
Bachelor's degree in public health, epidemiology, demography, statistics, or other related fields.
Extensive professional experience in public health and/or international development, with at least three years leading M&E activities.
Demonstrated experience working closely with the Ministry of Health at the national and sub-national levels.
Strong skills in basic data analysis and data visualization.
Experience collaborating with internal and external partners to facilitate data use.
Strong attention to detail, specifically in reviewing data analysis and reporting for accuracy.
Ability to communicate technical information to a wide variety of audiences.
You’ll Impress Us If
Experience implementing digital health interventions.
Experience using DHIS2 to download data and review dashboards.
Experience living and working in remote or hard-to-reach communities in Liberia.
Experience with providing data-related coaching and mentorship.
Demonstrated commitment to social justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
A master’s degree in these areas.

Compensation for this position:
The Band for this position: LBR- 3
The salary range for this role is $20,862 - $30,135, dependent upon experience doing an equivalent role. Please note that the compensation is subject to statutory taxes.
