Job Description Summary

The FLRAA Common Services Systems Lead will lead the systems effort for the Vehicle Health Management Common Services for FLRAA. In this role, the Common Services Systems Lead will work with the Engineering Project Manager, the customer, and other project leadership to understand the project's scope, cost and schedule requirements.

The Common Services Systems Lead will be responsible to work with the project team, planning, coordinating and driving the execution of the systems work. In addition, the Common Services Systems Lead will work closely with engineering leadership to identify and assign key skillsets and resources required for project execution.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Develop a good working relationship with the customer, Engineering Project Manager and other project and engineering leadership.

  • Understand the technical scope, cost and schedule for the project.

  • Plan, coordinate, monitor and lead the systems effort / team for the project.

  • Provide team oversight to ensure delivery of a quality artifact / product.

  • Escalate issues in a timely manner.

  • Monitor team progress towards deliverables, remove roadblocks and drive accountability and ownership of individual and team commitments.

  • Identify and manage dependencies, risks and scope creep associated with the systems effort for the project.

  • If applicable, identify supplier scope of work and manage schedule.

  • Work with product stakeholders to understand product roadmaps and communicate needs and status.

  • Continuous demonstration of the GE Leadership Behaviors.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in systems engineering.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively and efficiently provide leadership to a team during project execution.

  • This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.

Desired Characteristics:

  • DO-178 DAL B experience.

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate across all levels of the organization.

  • Experience with model-based system engineering (MBSE).

  • Experience with Cameo.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead a global and/or virtual team.

  • Demonstrated ability to both system design and system verification activities.

  • Demonstrated ability of project management skills.

  • Software engineering experience.

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
