University of Michigan Health-West (Formally Metro Health) is looking for an HR Business Partner.
Under direction of the Human Resources Business Partner - Manager the HR Business Partner will be responsible for providing employee relations and HRIS support to the organization.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in a business management, business administration, or HR related field required.
- SPHR/PHR preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of demonstrated experience in employee relations.
- Strong computer skills: word, excel, access, PowerPoint.
- Organizational skills: time management, project management, priority setting.
- High degree of analytical ability, organizational skills and ability to multi-task.

- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Counsels hourly and salaried employees on consistent application of policies and applicable employment laws.
- Maintains the HRIS system to meet internal and external requirements.
- Investigates complaints and resolves conflicts to ensure a productive workforce and a collaborative environment.
- Processes unemployment claims and manages unemployment hearing to justify employment decisions.
- Implements and maintains exit interviewing process and follow through.
- Develops monthly metric report to evaluate human resource effectiveness to achieve organizational goals.
- Ensure the regulatory Human Resource data requirements are met.
- Participated on committees, project teams or special assignments as needed.
- Assess, develop, and implement employee retention strategy.
- Facilitate a wide range of employee relations activities to support a positive work environment including employee recognition activities, training classes, employee counseling.
- Performs other duties as assigned. These may include but are not limited to: Maintaining a current knowledge base of department processes, protocols and procedures, pursuing self-directed learning and continuing education opportunities, and participating on committees, task forces, and work groups as determined by management.
