Job Title: Tig Welder 2nd Shift

Job Description

Seeking a skilled TIG Welder for a second shift position, primarily focused on welding Stainless Steel and Carbon Steel. The role involves standing and performing precise welds on T joints measuring 1 to 2 inches long using Fillet, Flat Group, and Horizontal techniques. There will also be minimal usage of Short Arc transfer and MIG welding. Daily tasks include retrieving work order kits, following blueprints to assemble seats using both TIG and MIG welding in a personal weld booth, with TIG welding constituting 65% of the daily workload.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Work Environment

The role is based in an older, weld shop environment which is inherently dirty. Each welder has their own welding cell, though they are situated close to each other. The environment is lively with music allowed in the area, contributing to a noisy setting with ongoing grinding and metal work. A typical work week spans approximately 50 hours, including 3 of 4 Saturdays during summer with an optional 4th Saturday. The facility will relocate to a new building in SE, Kentwood, MI by the end of 2024.
