The ALLO Outside Plant (OSP) Technicians are dedicated to safely building, splicing, testing, and maintaining an all-fiber network in ALLO communities to provide maximum operating efficiency. ALLO OSP Techs understand how their role directly impacts ALLO growth and by meeting timely deliverables with high standards, they will ensure that customer needs and company goals can be met. ALLO OSP Techs will work closely with Leadership and Subject Matter Experts in their assigned content areas to stay current with procedures and processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Install/blow locate string line in underground conduit systems Use motorized equipment to pull fiber cable/MSTs through underground conduit systems Excavate with shovels Restore disturbed soil/ grass/landscaping Verify accuracy and document any discrepancies or fiber changes relating to the installation of string, multi-service terminals (MSTs) or cable Prepare all field reports relating to work accomplished accurately and timely Operate and maintain company owned vehicles, complete driver logs and vehicle documents Operate hydraulic aerial lifts (buckets) and climb ladders Splice up to 144F in either 17" or 22" cases Splice butt or mid-sheath to ribbon or MSTs (up to 12) Splice drop termination closure (DTC) on pole or pedestal for MST repair Terminate to Clearfield Cassette/multi-dwelling unit (MDU) Splicing Update splice documentation Use SmartSheets Set up of aerial and underground splice points to include taping, directional marking, grounding, cable management tray installation, hanging cases and securing in vault Understand basic knowledge of aerial and underground cable and MST installation Test fiber in the field Troubleshoot with test equipment: power meter, VFL, traffic identifier Perform basic underground plant maintenance Coordinate and oversee vehicle, trailer, and equipment maintenance as needed Maintain clean driving record Work overtime as needed; may be required to work long hours during emergency situations including after-hours restorations Perform other duties as assigned

Colorado residents: Typical pay for this role is $18.00 to $20.00 per hour depending on experience

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent

EXPERIENCE: 1 year telecommunication experience preferred
