Primary Responsibilities:

  • Product and Platform Management : Effectively communicates the product and platform vision for two key enterprise capabilities: Unified Enterprise Search and Enterprise Preference Management to product, engineering, business, and operations teams. Know the relationship between product capabilities, applications to drive adoption roadmap of strategic platforms; able to influence, evangelize and foster reuse across portfolios; partner with key stakeholders to develop OKR's (measure what matters) and inform technology priorities for transformation with the least tech debt; provide guidance and direction to product strategy and roadmaps

  • Technical Acumen: Using technical knowledge to influence the Product Vision, Technology Strategy, and Architecture continuum; Influences Product Management Roadmap and Provides Cross functional Leadership across engineering and product teams; Evangelizes best practices, processes, and tools for federated product development; Sets the Guiding Principles and Strategy for developing product on platforms

  • Radius of influence: represent Optum Technology platform strategies and execution to stakeholders in Technology, Optum and UnitedHealthcare Business, Product and Operations. Develop a co-creation engagement model that drives progress on OKRs; takes setbacks and failures as learnings to the next iteration of actions and decisions

  • Leadership: strong intellectual curiosity and drive to understand complex and emerging technology; passionate about building products on platforms; remains comfortable and resilient in difficult conversations with executive leaders; anticipates adversity, stays focused and rebounds quickly; provides a steady hand in difficult situations and inspires others; acts as a coach to all teams; has a continuous talent pipeline and attracts top talent; demonstrates organizational agility

  • Change Management: co-develop a high performing product model across all disciplines and partner with internal and external business stakeholders to enable seamless omni-channel experiences for those we serve. Anticipate barriers of adoption of the enterprise capabilities and drive strategies that will enable product engineering teams to benefit from the reuse and streamlined capabilities

  • Consumer First Strategy: create a consumer-focused technology culture that lives and breathes customer success through data driven, real-time site telemetry, and consumer insights to continuously improve the performance and reliability

  • Artificial Intelligence and Gen-AI Culture: reimagine consumer experiences through technology by leveraging highly personalized Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning methods creating highly responsive and engaging consumer experiences

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 10+ years of progressive role in a technology and engineering environment

  • 10+ years of product development, ownership and/or (tech) product management experience, in an agile environment delivering direct to consumer solutions ( digital, eCommerce and/or mobile)

  • 10+ years experience managing a large, multi-segment portfolio

  • 7+ years of experience translating technical and scientific information into layman's terms

  • History of driving digital product delivery and successfully leading engineering through a product model culture across multiple brands or lines of business

  • Demonstrated success leading through (and developing) other leaders

  • Proven track record of effectively leading global organizations of 30+ team members (both employees & vendor partners)

  • Background in creating new consumer facing digital assets and/or new go to market digital channels

  • Proven track record of success leading large-scale global digital organizations using design thinking principles that resulted in amazing consumer experiences

  • Demonstrated experience developing business presentations for executive-level audiences and developing messaging around business strategies

  • Experience working in Health Care industry

  • Demonstrated ability to achieve goals in a matrixed environment

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and influence others

  • Proficient in interpreting and analyzing data to support decision making

  • Proven organizational skills with ability to be flexible and work with ambiguity

  • Proven ability to proactively communicate concise, written summaries of potential issues or risks

  • Proven ability to build relationships cross-functionally and lead toward common goals, influence and lead without authority

  • Demonstrated leadership and hands-on experience, ability to mentor talent and motivate others, provide work direction, attract and retain top talent

  • Proven passion for transforming healthcare, solid program management skills, and the ability to work effectively across multiple matrixed shared services and external partners

  • Proven strategic thinker with solution-focused problem-solving skills

  • Proven excellent organizational skills and ability to initiate and own all aspects of communication across multiple projects
