WSP USA IT Infrastructure Consultant in Halifax, Nova Scotia

We are currently looking for an intermediate IT Infrastructure Consultant to join our Technology Team, managing large security projects. As a subject matter expert you will be advising clients and representing WSP as leaders in the IT Infrastructure field. This position is a hybrid role and can be based in Ontario or Atlantic region.

A typical week would include:

  • IT Infrastructure consulting specifically in all of the following:

  • IT Cabling Infrastructure, Network and Technology systems design

  • IT Cabling Infrastructure, Network and Technology systems Contract Administration

  • Physical IT Infrastructure Audits and Assessments

  • Seeing projects through from beginning to end including: Concept Design Narratives, Schematic Design, Detailed Design, Construction Documents, Tender Review, Project Management, Construction Administration and Project Closeout.

  • Involved in stakeholder engagement and running requirements workshops with clients and stakeholders

  • Participate in workshops to elicit technical and functional requirements from a broad range of stakeholders, and developing client-focused solutions across a varied mix of IT Infrastructure and technologies.

  • Developing professional, client-facing documents, including technical specifications and reports, using standard software tools such as MS Word, MS Excel, MS Visio, MS PowerPoint, Bluebeam Studio and Adobe Acrobat, among others;

  • Interpreting and reviewing typical design and construction issue technical drawings developed using REVIT, AutoCAD and similar tools;

  • Participating in technical and project meetings with a varied audience and participant mix, including management/executive, end-user, and technical personnel;

  • Instructing and guiding other, less experienced team members, in the development/production of CAD/Revit project deliverables;

  • Working individually or collaboratively with the local and wider Building Technologies team and other disciplines within the business.

  • Min 5 years’ experience in an IT Infrastructure consultancy

  • Familiarity with alternate delivery models (Alliance, DBFM, Design Build, etc.) is an asset.

  • Experience in active networking preferred

  • Demonstrable experience managing large IT projects

  • Commercial acumen essential

  • Be accomplished in delivering presentations

  • A flexible approach to the working environment

  • Ability to obtain a Public Works and Government Services Canada Level 2 security clearance and work in a secure environment.

  • Must be able to work normal hours of Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm, but also be willing to work overtime including evening and weekends when necessary.

  • Must be willing to travel periodically and as required for project assignments.

  • Must hold valid driver’s licence and vehicle for travel to client sites.
