Danfoss Climate Solutions (DCS) is looking for a self-driven Sustainability Lead Engineer to deliver on our ESG agenda in Danfoss Refrigeration and Air-condition products (RAC).

The position is available in Nordborg (DK), Kolding (DK), Hamburg (DE), Grodzisk Mazowieckiv (PL) or Chennai (India) as a hybrid position (3 days onsite). For the right candidate we would consider relocation as an option within EU only to Nordborg. Additionally some travel is to be expected in this role.

Job Responsibilities

It will be your responsibility to secure an even greater environmental performance of our Climate Solutions products with the aim to identify opportunities for improvements and secure implementation. Already during the concept and development phase we would like to have a focus on ESG from the very beginning. You will be part of the RD&E team in RAC and work cross-functionally and with our ESG team on DCS level.

Responsibilities include amongst others:

  • Lead and oversee the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) execution & EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) creation in RAC

  • Analyze and effectively communicate LCA results and provide expert guidance in design projects on how to minimize environmental impact

  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including product managers, engineers, and supply chain teams, e.g., to collect necessary data, to identify and prioritize opportunities, and to decide on actions

  • Act as bridge to the Climate Solutions team ensuring consistency and improvement of methodology, metrics, frameworks & tools

  • Support onboarding new & support training of existing Sustainability Design Engineers in RAC especially regarding LCA & EPD

Background & Skills

To be considered for this role you should hold a bachelor's degree in environmental science, sustainability, engineering, or related field and a master's degree is preferred.

Beyond the above we believe the ideal candidate has/is...

  • Minimum 3+ years of relevant professional experience, preferable working in an international B2B company.

  • Relevant experience within ESG from a previous position, especially in conducting LCAs

  • Familiar with EPD standards, LCA software and 3D modeling (Inventor) is preferred.

  • A solid understanding of manufacturing, engineering and/or product development is advantageous.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and project management abilities.

  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical information to diverse audiences.

  • You enjoy technical discussions, working in cross-functional project teams, and managing a broad set of stakeholders.
