As a Staff Software Engineer at CVS Health, you'll play a crucial role in building and delivering high-quality software that enhances customer experiences. You'll be involved in all phases of software engineering, from requirements analysis to deployment, while adhering to agile software development methodologies. Collaboration is key, as you'll work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated solutions that meet the evolving needs of our business.

Required Qualifications

  • 7 years of total experience

  • Demonstrates a keen awareness of the member experience while seeking opportunities for automation and innovation to automate and optimize business operations.

  • Ability to work with Data Science & Products team to understand operations workflow and requirements.

  • Ability to understand and make architectural decisions on both UI and backend systems.

  • 2+ years of experience working with LLMs and other Gen AI models.

  • 5+ years of experience with designing and building software engineering solutions in cloud environments.

  • 5+ years of experience in one or more modern languages, such as Python, Java, C#, JavaScript, SQL, etc.

  • 5+ years of experience with APIs, microservices, and modern software patterns

  • 3+ years experience in building fast API, CI/CD, container-based applications and UI (react/Angular)

  • 2+ years experience in GCP eco system with hands on development using BigTable, Spanner, GKE and cloud functions.

  • 2+ years experience in building observability and fail proof systems for 24/7 uptime.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Comfortable independently leading and completing tasks.

  • Familiarity with different phases of software development lifecycle (SDLC)

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills within and across teams

  • Experience with complex systems and solving challenging analytical problems.

  • Ability to leverage multiple tools and programming languages to analyze and manipulate data sets from disparate data sources.

  • Formal SAFe and/or agile experience. Previous healthcare experience and domain knowledge

Education

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, Data Analytics, Machine Learning, or related field required.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$130,295.00 - $284,280.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
