Position Summary:
The Operations Manager is responsible for the oversight of warehouse and distribution for BradyPLUS Vermont. This role leads a team of 20 warehouse/driver associates.
Responsibilities include:
- Oversees receiving, warehousing, distribution and maintenance of a 47k SF facility
- Ensures operational policies and procedures are followed in accordance with company standards
- Identifies areas of improvement and establishes innovative or adjusts existing work procedures and practices
- Coordinates with Marketing and Sales to support business
- Adheres to all warehousing, handling and shipping legislation
- Ensures OSHA and DOT compliance for all staff
- Responsible for inventory accuracy and cycle counts
- Liaison between freight companies
- Responsible for the execution of all associate development and performance management programs; to include but not limited to training one on ones, year-end evaluations, progressive discipline and performance improvement plans
- Responsible for Safety Programs and Compliance
- Ensures all warehouse employees are forklift certified
- Responsible for the cleanliness of the warehouse
- Responsible for clear & effective communications
- Manages in accordance with BradyPLUS policies
- Responsible for reporting accurate operations metrics
- Responsible for maintaining staffing levels
- Reviews and approves payroll hours for warehouse and driver team
- Other duties and tasks as assigned by the Regional Director of Operations
- Able to travel as needed
- Ability to work in above average stressful environment(s)
- Ability to meet strict deadlines
Ideal Candidate will have:
- 3-5 years of Warehouse/Distribution Management experience required
- Experience with DOT regulations
- Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives
- Routing Software experience strongly desired (Omnitracs)
- Strong working knowledge of inventory planning, forecasting techniques as well as operational systems and warehouse management
- 7+ years relevant materials management & purchasing experience
- Experience with Wireless RF systems, P21 preferred
- Strong decision making and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Current forklift certification
- University Degree/ College Degree Preferred
- Ability to stand, sit, walk up to 8 hours a day
