Full Job Description:  Second Shift (3pm-1130pm) and Third Shift (11pm-730am)

This is an entry level manufacturing position with career growth in the company.  Fluid Energy processes cutting edge powders for the food, materials, personal care, clothing, and energy markets.  This is a "hands on" processing job involving various powder processing equipment.  Operator will start as a general laborer, train to junior operator, and train to senior operator.  100% on the job training.  Initial training will be on day shift for three-six months.

To perform this job a person must be able to work with general supervision.  The production operator must be able to follow directions, be punctual, and able to troubleshoot mechanical equipment.  While performing this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk on a cement floor, in an ambient air plant.  The employee frequently uses their hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.  The production operator will wear a dust mask or respirator while performing most duties.  Steel toe boots are required.

Operation duties include startup, running, and shutdown of jet-mills, mechanical mills, blenders, dryers, and crushers:

  • Set-up system including assembling proper piping, ductwork, gasketing, safety grounding, baghouse, and other equipment according to specifications.  Changeout nozzles, pushers, and venturies assuring proper fit of installed equipment.
  • Follow documented sequence for starting and stopping equipment.
  • Clean equipment and system as needed following proper procedures.
  • Trouble shoot and repair equipment as needed during processing.

Data collection and record keeping duties include:

  • Record correct processing and production data on runsheets including pressures, temperatures, feed rates.
  • Check and tare weight scales.  Approve final package weight using established procedures.
  • Verify label and stencil on finished package goods.

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to read, write, and understand English.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure in whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Must be able to lift 55 lbs and move/roll 265 lb drums.
  • Vison requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus.
  • Must be able to wear a full or partial face respirator with dust cartridges.
  • Education:  High school diploma or equivalent (Preferred)
  • Experience:  Manufacturing: 1 year (Preferred)

     

Schedule:  8-hour shift
