Full Job Description:

• Echoing Hope Ranchs (EHR) mission is to acknowledge each person as a dynamic human\ being and to help them build a full and satisfying life. Each person with autism or other\ developmental disabilities has a unique set of skills and strengths. Identifying strengths and\ developing new skills increases independence and contributes to a greater quality of life.
• The Barn DSP position is responsible for the care and maintenance of all the animals living on\ the ranch. The ranch has several types of farm animals including turkeys, goats, pigs, chickens,\ rabbits, ducks, cats, and even peacocks. The care of these animals is very important to the\ mission of EHR. Participants work alongside staff in the agriculture program to learn and\ develop work skills to be able to move on and compete for other jobs in the community. The job\ entails regular tasks such as feeding, cleaning pens, monitoring for health concerns, walking the\ pony, and other routine tasks.

Requirements:

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Able to pass a background check and obtain a fingerprint clearance card
• CPR/First Aid (we can help with certification to be able to start working)
• Article 9 and Prevention & Support certification (we can help with certification to be able\ to start working)
• Valid AZ Drivers License and ability to transport (safe and reliable vehicle required)
• Must have experience working with farm animals and any material associated with their\ care.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. or more
• Must be able to work outside for the majority of the day.
