Aston Carter Accounting Assistant in Hillsboro, Oregon
We are partnering with one of our top clients located in Hillsboro, OR, who is looking for an Accounting Assistant. This is a great opportunity to kickstart a career in accounting, or for established professionals to develop more skills within the accounting field.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform daily basic A/P invoice processing and data entry functions
Review invoices to ensure accuracy and perform 2-way matches
File invoices and miscellaneous task as assigned
Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment
Process 2 way match (Vendor Invoice, P.O.,) to ensure all correct information before processing payment
Prioritize invoices according to cash discount potential and payment terms
Match invoices to checks, obtain all signatures for checks and distribute checks accordingly
Respond to all vendor inquiries
Reconcile vendor statements, research and correct discrepancies
Assist in month end closing, including journal entries and reconciliations related to accounts payable
Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices
Skills & Qualifications:
Experience working within an office setting and with knowledge of accounting terminology including invoices, accounts payable, accounts receivable etc.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
Solid communicator - prompt/personal/professional
