A laboratory professional that leads the Hilversum scent innovation creation and design (IC&D) application lab in delivering quality application samples on time in full. This is a fulltime job. The position will report to the Hilversum scent IC&D operations manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Tracks accuracy, quality, and punctuality of sample preparation. Manages and develops best in class team (8 employees) through talent selection, recruitment, onboarding, coaching and performance management/recognition.

• Generates sampling preparation reports and provide analysis of data against key performance indicators (on time performance, lead time, capacity etc.).

• Manages key projects and liaises with internal customers such as scent design managers, project coordinators, consumer insights or other groups.

• Ensures objectives are aligned with the business strategy and that personal development plans are in place for each member of the team.

• Creates, improves, and standardizes standard operating procedures (SOPs) for sampling preparation including operating/maintenance of equipment and ensures alignment with other laboratories.

• Develops international network of peers to ensure global standardized processes where applicable.

• Organizes laboratory settings to ensure optimal working conditions by improving lab functions to offer the best-in-class service.

• Support and implements a consistent process flow to ensure optimal product flow, on time delivery (internal & external), quality and cost to serve.

• Maintains lab safety and cleanliness through implementation of safe practices and periodic safety checks.

• Makes yearly recommendations on operational requirements and provides expertise to support delivery of approved capital projects.

• Influence internal and external stakeholders through methods of communication suited for the audience.

Required / preferred competencies, skills, and experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, cosmetics, chemical engineering, or pharmacy.

• 3-5 years of experience in lab management/supervisory.

• Fluency in English (verbal and written).

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Drive for results.
