WEEKEND POSITIONS 12 HOUR SHIFTS WITH EXCELLENT RATES* AND GREAT BENEFITS!!* Seeking caring, compassionate individuals looking to provide the highest level of care to our residents and align with our Mission. You will be responsible for the day to day care of 8-10 residents, duties will include bathing, feeding, dressing, grooming and ensuring the residents overall well-being.   • On a daily basis, review and follow ADL care plan directives as written prior to performing care to determine if changes have been made. Address questions with Team Leader and/or RN Supervisor.
  • Provide care efficiently and as required in the residents' ADL care plan, including, but not limited to:
  • Bed mobility/transfers/repositioning
  • Bathing
  • Dressing
  • Grooming, including shaving male residents and keeping hair on female residents clean shaven (i.e., facial hair, under arms, legs, etc.) as instructed.
  • Nail care
  • Eating
  • Toileting and incontinence care (perineal care, catheter, skin integrity)
  • Hearing aids/glasses/dentures/mouth care
  • Transport residents to and from appointments/activities
  • Ensure that all nursing care is provided in privacy.
  • Prepare residents for meals (i.e., take to bathroom, wash hands, comb hair, ensure dentures are in place if applicable, raise bed, position tables, place garment protectors, take to/from dining room).
  • Record the resident's food/fluid intake. Report changes in the resident's eating habits.

  • Perform after meal care (i.e., remove trays, clean resident's hands, face, clothing, take to bathroom, brush teeth, clean dentures, etc.).
  • Keep residents dry (i.e., change gown, clothing, linen, etc., when wet or soiled).
  • Change bed linens. Keep linens tight to avoid wrinkles forming under the resident.
  • Make beds (occupied and unoccupied).
  • Position residents per care plan. Turn bedfast residents at least every two (2) hours as care planned.
  • Assist residents to walk with or without self-help devices as care planned.
  • Perform restorative procedures as care planned. Document as required.
  • Provide daily Range of Motion exercises.
  • Weigh residents as instructed and document on proper form.
  • Answer resident calls promptly.
  • Conduct rounds as required. Ensure that residents who are unable to call for help are checked frequently.
  • Check each resident routinely to ensure that his/her personal care needs are being met in accordance with his/her wishes and/or as care planned.
  • Observe and report the presence of pressure areas and skin breakdowns according to procedure.
  • Assist residents in preparing for activity and social programs (i.e., church services, parties, visitors, etc.).
  • Assist with the care of and provide comfort to the dying resident. Provide post-mortem care as instructed.
  • Treat all residents fairly and with kindness. Provide care and services in a manner which is respectful of residents' rights and dignity and which allows residents the right to choose, including the right to refuse care/treatment.

SKILLS & ABILITIES Education: Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or equivalent. Must have completed a nurse aide training program approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education in order to be eligible for testing or must be currently enrolled with the Pennsylvania Department of Health as an eligible nurse aide.  

Experience: On-the-job training is provided for those who meet the education requirements. Must have no substantiated findings of abuse, neglect or misappropriation of property on file with the Certificates & Licenses: *Must be certified as a nurse aide by the Pennsylvania Department of Health. If not certified at time of hire, must complete this process within 120 days of employment. **Other Physical/Sensory Requirements (with or without the aid of mechanical devices)

  • Must be able to move intermittently throughout the work day.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and comprehend the English language in an understandable manner.
  • Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
  • Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to ensure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
  • Must meet the general health requirements set forth by policies of this facility which include a medical and physical examination.
  • Must be able to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and, at times, hostile people within the facility.
  • Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.

  • Works in the nursing service areas and other areas as required, as well as throughout the facility.
  • Moves frequently during work hours.
  • Is subject to frequent interruptions.
  • Is involved with residents, family members, personnel, visitors, volunteers, government agencies/personnel, etc., under all circumstances.
  • Is subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members, personnel, visitors, etc.
