Job Purpose :

This position is responsible for developing proactive solutions for meeting customer needs and assuring Business Market growth and profitability within the prevailing competitive and regulatory environments. This position will oversee and coordinate all issues relating to the preparation of responses to RFPs, competitive pricing responses, special bid pricing, the development of service contracts, and administrating the sales compensation plans. This position will identify current and future opportunities to assure Business Market Unit profitability through developing, standardizing, and automating materials, processes, and tools which assist and support the sales team in responding to competitive issues. The incumbent will analyze and report on trends and issues in the marketplace and will work with the sales, marketing, finance, and regulatory affairs organizations to assure that the Business Market Unit responds effectively to these issues. Technical assistance with the formulation of competitive responses and RFPs will be required.

Essential Functions :

  • 20% -- Partner with sales, marketing, finance, and regulatory affairs to develop standard and custom processes and responses to opportunities and threats in the marketplace

  • 10% -- Work closely with Business Market Unit marketing, sales, finance, and regulatory management to analyze strategic issues and opportunities in order to formulate and recommend initiatives to respond to competitive opportunities and threats in the marketplace

  • 10% -- Work closely with Business Market Unit marketing, sales, finance, and regulatory management to assure effective communication and support of policies and procedures relating to pricing, including training, promotional activity, product and service information, and sales collateral

  • 10% -- Works as a partner with sales managers and product managers to support sales, revenue, and profitability objectives

  • 10% -- Develop, standardize and automate materials and sales tools that assist the sales team in responding to competitive issues and formal RFPs in a consistent, timely, profitable, and professional manner

  • 10% -- Partner with sales, marketing, finance, and regulatory affairs to develop standard and custom contracts and related control procedures

  • 10% -- Develop and maintain tracking reports and other analysis tools that identify and track variables that have a significant impact on pricing and profitability in a competitive environment

  • 15% -- Development, Coordination, and Management of Business Markets Sales Compensation Plans

  • 5% -- Coordination and Management of Agent Sales Management Commission Program

Education :

Four years of College resulting in a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent

Relevant Work Experience:

  • 2 to 4 years in related field

  • Previous experience with the implementation of marketing and pricing strategy is essential

  • Experience with statistical analysis, database management, and spreadsheet analysis is required

  • Familiarity with telecommunications regulatory policy is desirable

Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills are required

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Must have demonstrated PC skills

  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams will be required

Supervisory Responsibility :

This position does not have employee direct reports but does serve as a lead role for others doing similar work

Pay Range: $70,000 to $112,500/year
