Part-Time (50% FTE), RCUH Non-Civil Service position with

the

project titled

Estimating the economic value of coastal tourism under climate change using revealed mobile phone network data, located at the University of Hawaii at Manoa Campus in Honolulu, Hawaii. Telework (from employees residence city and state) may be permissible subject to review and approval by Principal Investigator and RCUH. Continuation of employment is dependent upon program/operational needs, satisfactory work performance, availability of funds, and compliance with applicable Federal/State laws.

MONTHLY SALARY RANGE: $1,844.50 - $2,500/Mon (@50% FTE).

DUTIES: Plans, designs, and leads the collection of GPS location data through collaboration with local institutions. Compiles relevant data, performs econometric and statistical analysis, and models recreational behavior in response to sea-level rise scenarios. The position requires preparing and submitting manuscripts for both project reports and journal publications, and assisting the Principal Investigator (PI) in overseeing a Graduate Research Assistant.

PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS:


EDUCATION PhD from an accredited college or university in Economics, Geography and Environment, Natural Resource and Environmental Management, or a related field.

EXPERIENCE One to three (1-3) years of experience in conducting in-person/off-site surveys of outdoor recreation, proficiency in modeling using Stata, R, LIMDEP/NLOGIT and equivalent software backages, professional/academic writing.

KNOWLEDGE Proficient knowledge in economic theory, human dimensions of natural resource management, and the coastal natural environment of the Main Hawaiian Islands.

ABILITIES and SKILLS Ability to develop and adapt code using Stata, R, LIMDEP/NLOGIT, and equivalent software backages, and interact constructively with collaborators.

Ability to effectively conduct work remotely (e.g., telework) as applicable. Post Offer/Employment Condition: Must be able to complete the UH Information Security Awareness Training (ISAT) within two (2) weeks from date of hire, and re-certify every twelve (12) months.
