JOB SUMMARY

Achieve daily departmental goals, safety practices, and production while working together as a team.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

This position will report to the Maintenance Manager but will interact with all required functions necessary to provide the shop floor with resources required to meet goals in the areas of safety, quality, delivery, and cost.

  • Functional Duties – perform duties as related to the job.

  • Duties include a wide variety of work, including wood working, electrical, sheet metal work, plumbing, millwright, painting, grounds keeping, general building repairs, etc.

  • Must be able to estimate material requirements and completely lay out the entire job.

  • Responsible for quality of work.

  • Keeps record of work performed.

  • Move new plant equipment to designated location or relocate equipment within building.

  • Perform safe work practices.

  • Keep work area clean and orderly.

  • Must be able to work overtime if needed.

  • Safety: perform safe work practices

  • Support, communicate, and drive Safety.

  • Support and communicate utilization of applicable Personal Protective Equipment

  • Support and communicate Behavioral Based Safety

  • Identify safety hazards and collaborate/investigate with team to resolve.

  • Sustains 6-S 360 principles throughout department.

  • Quality: perform and build quality parts/products to ensure specifications are met

  • Quality investigations 8D and 4 Block.

  • Identify and collaborate/investigate with team to resolve non-conformances.

  • Support corrective actions are identified and followed through.

  • Lean manufacturing principles:

  • Participate and engage with 6S projects, 6S 360 and SMED events.

  • Lead department 6S-360 projects

  • Train, communicate and follow work instructions.

  • Ensure FIFO to keep the department inventory to recommended levels.

  • Train new hires and job bid employees entering the department.

  • Safety on the job

  • Quality at the source

  • Assess and document training competency of new learner to identify successes and/or deficiencies. Collaborate with Supervisor.

  • Equipment – machines – operations – tools – 6S 360(keep work area clean and organized).

  • Data entry – (i.e., production reporting, JDE, Lighthouse)

  • Production expectations

Education/Experience/Skills:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent

  • Must have three (3) years’ experience/training in industrial manufacturing maintenance or equivalent. (Field of electricity and, equivalent to at least three years of shop mathematics and blueprint reading is essential).

  • Complete & thorough knowledge in electricity including PLC’s and advanced electrical systems and controls is required.

  • Understand and develop Standard Operating Procedures
