Job Description Summary

The Aero Services Materials Manager is accountable for developing, executing and sustaining material planning processes that enable competitive lead-times, flexibility to capture unplanned opportunities and achieve targeted inventory efficiencies.

This role reports to the Director, Global Aero Service Parts and will supervise a team of material planners and expeditors. The Aero Service Material Manager will collaborate with Regional teams, Global Sales Support and Product Management to capture total material demand and collaborate with Regional teams, Distribution and Logistics for execution. This role operates within established operating policy objectives and has moderate autonomy to act. High levels of judgement are required to achieve required business results.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for material planning and inventory metrics across Aero Services segment · Monitors the results of changes to inventory plan/forecast and recommends modifications · Plans for prevention of excess inventory and "stock outs" · Works with all levels of personnel in resolving issues, tracking material availability, and advising on material usage · Works with customers, externally and internally, to identify new opportunities to improve current processes

  • Requires specialized knowledge within material planning to influence the development of processes and strategies.

  • Implements Lean tools and methodologies throughout the materials management

  • Interprets internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve strategy, processes and services. Stays informed of industry trends that may inform work.

  • Uses high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks. Has ability to assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders. Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and is able to construct and provide recommendations. Uses internal and external sources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.

  • Communicates difficult concepts and influences material planning topics. May guide others to consider a different point of view.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college plus a minimum of 6-years relevant experience in Material Planning, Supply Chain, Procurement and /or similar functions
