The HMIS Special Projects Application Support Manager converts data from acquisition location systems into the Company’s HMIS. This role will also update cemetery records in HMIS, set up new locations in HMIS, perform package and item setup support, run ad hoc queries, provide HMIS month end support and provide post data load support. Serving as an effective project manager and managing tasks of assigned technical resources is critical for success
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Cemetery Operations Support
Provide cemetery record data to locations for their review.
Perform update of cemetery records in HMIS, based on data received from the location
Seek out and provide process improvements related to updating of cemetery records in HMIS
Manage end user expectations for deliverables and priority of tasks.
Manage and assign tasks for assigned technical resources.
Coordinate, track and report task progress, including obtaining necessary approvals for implementation
Data Conversion
Perform HMIS location and item setup tasks for newly acquired locations
Extract data from an acquisition location’s system and map data elements to fields in HMIS
Prepare templates for various data loads (contracts, property, property owner records, etc.)
Perform quality assurance testing on load scripts to ensure these work as designed
Perform validation of prepared templates
Run contract load steps for provided templates (e.g. run a script to update data)
Perform post implementation tasks (e.g. post-acquisition, deliveries, cancellations, contract entry, early pay off adjustments, reversals, cancellations, refunds, equity transfers, etc.)
Special Projects
Perform HMIS month end support tasks (e.g. run queries)
Perform ad hoc SQL requests to pull data from HMIS
Work on escalated help desk tickets as assigned
Protect confidential information, exercise discretion concerning dissemination
Maintain and archive data in accordance with established policies and procedures
Extract data from HMIS and provide to third parties according to cyber security guidelines
Progress Reporting
Document work progress to manager
Document data mapping and requirements gathering processes
Document and track status of cemetery record updates
Participate in various Shared Responsibility Teams/project team meetings to understand goals, discuss issues and provide progress toward timelines
Minimum Requirements
Education
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, or information technology
Certification in Microsoft Excel, SQL, highly preferred
Experience
Six years of business experience with data conversion work required
Three (3) years in Managing IT Solutions experience or equivalent experience in a related field
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to demonstrate Excel and SQL proficiency
Extensive knowledge of the data load process
Experience using a data loading tool
Work within guiding principles of IT change management to ensure SOX compliance for all change processes
Ability to learn independently and to translate knowledge into sound office practices
Effective communicator
Develop creative solutions to problems. Demonstrate the ability to seek alternative, new ideas, and / approaches to problems.
Ability to work effectively as a team member
Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks
Ability to take initiative to ensure deadlines are met
