MD Anderson Cancer Center Asset Control Technician - General Accounting in Houston, Texas

SUMMARY

The position of Asset Control Technician is to provide support to the Surplus Warehouse Operations. This support maintaining an orderly flow of surplus property while maintaining compliance with Federal, State, and UT System rules regarding the management and disposal of surplus property including distressed medical devices, IT equipment and recycle eligible materials.

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES

Manage Surplus Assets: Manage surplus property on-line web links of available surplus posted internally. Assists with the auction removal process ensuring the correct assets are distributed to the correct buyer. Prepares auction lots of product to be purchased by insuring sold/transferred property is free of any protected health information, biological and radioactive hazards.

Maintain orderly flow of equipment: Responsible for maintaining an orderly flow of surplus property including lost and found property collected by UTPD.

Receiving of Assets: Checks shipments against bills of lading for completeness, inspects for damage and reports discrepancies. Inspects packing slip, match with correct boxes, prepares and markets surplus property for potential re-use programs.

Review Lab Equipment for Compliance: Performs review of laboratory equipment ensuring compliance with the Safety Seal program and reporting discrepancies to EH&S.

REQUIREMENTS

Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Education: Some College

Required Experience: Three years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Experience: Forklift/warehouse experience, shipping/receiving experience, some excel and outlook (email) skills, good written and verbal communication skills.

License: Valid Texas Driver license

Schedule: On-site location, Monday - Friday 8:00am-4:30pm
