Jacobs Assistant Project Manager- Healthcare in Houston, Texas

We're looking for an experienced and collaborative Assistant Project Manager Healthcare Buildings who thrives when people are in sync and projects are running not just on time but within budget. This unique opportunity is based at a client site in Houston (Medical Center), reporting directly to the Program Manager and client. You’ll be responsible not only for the joint project delivery but also for the management of the project through completion in accordance with program objectives.  You'll manage and provide construction oversight and resolve complex project-related issues, disputes, and disagreements.

Your role is pivotal in ensuring the progress and technical performance of the project. You'll also be responsible for the crucial aspects of material management, schedule, cost, scope, and safety of the team, underscoring your integral role in our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assists the Project Managers with various tasks associated with project delivery (scope, cost, schedule, quality, safety, information management) on a complex multi-phased project

  • Manages project development from programming (Scope to Budget) through completion (Closeout) per program objectives

  • Assists in meetings and prepares meeting notes

  • Assists in managing budgets, schedules, scope development, design and construction contracts, documents, procedures, and controls for assigned projects

  • Prepares reports, agenda, meeting notes, and presentations

  • Tracks inspections

  • Reviews and provides comments on consultant and contractor pay applications and change orders

  • Attends meetings and assures that meeting minutes during design and construction are issued by A/E

  • During construction, responsible for maintaining Jacobs’ relationship with the client

  • Responsible for coordination of all consultant and contractor activity at each job site

  • Confirms that the A/E and GC expedite the submittal, review, and approval of shop drawings, requests for information, and change orders

  • BS/BA in Construction, Engineering or related field

  • 4+ years of experience as a Project Engineer, Assistant Project Manager in an Engineering, Environmental, or Construction organization

  • Strong working knowledge of building systems/components and technology, contract management, project delivery methods, team building, schedule adherence, and client relationship building

Ideally You Will Have:

  • Healthcare building construction experience
