AutoNation Auto Auction Houston Position Overview The Auction Lot Operations Manager leads the team of inventory associates and establishes and maintains digital inventory records of vehicles for sale to include data entry and continuing update of vehicle identification, condition and sale processing status. What are the day-to-day Responsibilities? Performing data entry of vehicle identification number (VIN), and other descriptive information in the system. Maintaining the auction lot map reserving and assigning spaces as necessary Managing the team of logistics and condition report Associates Ensuring completion of stock in, transportation, and all other vehicle charges are applied to the appropriate vehicle in the system Pulling and updating consignment inventory information of vehicles transmitted by customer Investigating transmission errors May be required to clerk an auction to document final bids, offers and buyer #’s using the auction run sheets. Managing which vehicles have been sold and have them relocated to the sold lot. Identifying which vehicles have not been sold, reassigning new lane and lot numbers and ensuring they are moved to the appropriate location. Communicating transportation and/or obtaining information including transportation condition reports, bills and pull transmitted transportation charges as needed. Arranging for towing of vehicles paid for but not removed within auction rules. Managing all aspects of auction safety including OSHA, audits, disposal of hazardous wastes and other areas as identified by state regulation and Auction General Manager. Creating customer vehicle files in the computer system; updating vehicle files on a continuous basis to ensure that vehicle location, condition, special announcements, and other activities relative to the vehicle are properly recorded. Maintaining and updating physical vehicle inventory files that document all activities relative to each customer vehicle What are the requirements for this job? High School Diploma or equivalent required Effective communication and organization skills required. Data entry experience is required May be required to stand, walk, reach, stoop and crouch. Experience 1 - 3 years of experience in the automotive auction industry preferred. Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmission. Must have valid in-state driver’s license and have and maintain an acceptable, safe driving record.
