Insight Global Civil Structural Department Manager in Houston, Texas

Job Description

One of Insight Global's industrial services clients is looking for a Civil Structural Department Manager to join their team in Houston, TX. This person needs to have at least 10-15 years of experience, and any experience in a supervisory or managerial position is a plus. This person will play a crucial role in overseeing various aspects related to civil and structural engineering projects, as well as directly supervising a team of 4 individuals. The Department Manager will be responsible for:

Project Planning and Design:

Collaborate with other Department Managers and the Civil Structural team to plan and design projects.

Provide leadership and oversight to the team.

Business Development and Client Relations:

Cultivate positive relationships with clients and stakeholders.

Take the lead in securing work for the Civil Structural team.

Technical Expertise:

Possess a strong understanding of civil and structural engineering principles.

Interpret design codes and standards.

Oversee structural design and analysis of various structures.

Prepare construction documents related to structural engineering.

Conduct quality control.

Effective Communication:

Communicate effectively and collaborate with cross-functional teams, contractors, and clients.

Skills and Requirements

Experience as a Civil/Structural Engineer

Professional Engineer (P.E.) license

Downstream oil and gas or petrochemical industry experience

Experience in a lead, supervisor, or manager role

Strong understanding of civil and structural engineering principles (load-bearing structures, material choices, structural design, etc.)

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or similar field Experience with MOC, costs, scheduling, etc.

Excellent communication skills null
