Description

Our client is a highly regarded real estate company that has a large presence throughout North America. This position is located in the Houston office and will operate on a hybrid model.

Job Description

  • Responsible for the preparation and distribution of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reporting packages (as well as any other relevant deliverable) for review by senior-level management and the company's board of directors. This includes responding to ad-hoc reporting and financial analysis requests from the leadership team to develop or further refine financial reporting formats to improve reporting efficiency and relevance.

  • Assist and oversee the coordination of key strategic initiatives for Internal Financial Reporting department, including (but not limited to) developing/updating project plans, organizing project meetings, monitoring task assignments, and preparing project dashboards/status reports to present to senior management. Projects may include process improvement initiatives related automation, improving process workflows, centralizing data repositories for ease of reporting and/or compiling supporting documentation to be presented to the Board and/or Regulatory body.

  • Provide support to the Vice President of Internal Financial Reporting department by providing continuous assessment of the financial close process. This includes identifying ways to re-engineer the process to reduce the overall time it takes to close the financial period.

  • Develop and maintain expert knowledge and utilization of business intelligence solutions used by company (i.e. NetSuite general ledger, Oracle Planning).

  • Perform analysis, research and/or conduct projects as requested by Corporate Finance management.

  • Drive process improvements related to the company's financial reporting

    Requirements

• High integrity with ability to maintain strict confidentiality

• Strong accounting skills with ability to apply GAAP

• Experience working with general ledgers and basic financial statements

• Technically proficient with strong expertise in Excel
