Job Title: eCommerce Manager Department: Operations FLSA Status: Exempt Job Summary: Thompson Safety seeks an eCommerce Manager to spearhead our online sales operations. This role will be pivotal in managing, developing, and executing the overall eCommerce strategy across Thompson Safety. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach, proficient in overseeing the entire eCommerce ecosystem. This entails supervising the eCommerce website, managing product listings, optimizing user experience, driving sales through digital marketing channels, penetrating the current customer base, implementing sales strategies, and enhancing customer engagement and adoption. The position oversees eCommerce from customer login to order fulfillment, presenting a unique opportunity to carve out your own "division" within our larger business footprint. ​​​ Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly manages a team of employees. Responsible for hiring, coaching, developing, and managing performance for direct reports. Essential Job Functions: eCommerce Strategy Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive eCommerce strategy aligned with company sales goals and market trends. Website Management: Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of the eCommerce website, ensuring optimal user experience, functionality, and performance. Driving Sales: Ability to drive sales through our operations/sales team to penetrate our current customer base and acquire new customers. Product Management: Manage product listings, descriptions, pricing, images, and inventory levels on the eCommerce platform. Ensure accurate product information and availability. Digital Marketing: Execute digital marketing campaigns aimed at driving traffic, customer acquisition, and sales conversion. Utilize SEO, PPC, email marketing, and social media to maximize online visibility and engagement. Customer Experience Optimization: Identify opportunities for improving the online shopping experience. Implement strategies to enhance the user interface, navigation, checkout process, and customer service. Analytics, Reporting & Budget: Track and analyze eCommerce metrics, including traffic, conversion rates, sales, budgets, and customer lifetime value. Generate regular reports and insights to inform decision-making and measure the effectiveness of eCommerce initiatives. Partnership Management: Cultivate relationships with eCommerce platform providers, technology vendors, and third-party service providers. Evaluate new tools and solutions to enhance eCommerce capabilities and efficiency. Experience & Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business Administration, Information Technology, or related field. 5+ years’ experience in eCommerce management or related roles (WooCommerce, WordPress experience preferred). Strong understanding of eCommerce platforms, technologies, and best practices. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Proficiency in variety of digital technologies (e.g., Google Analytics, Sage 300, PowerBI). Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights. Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, and talking on the phone, attending in-person and virtual online meetings, and use of standard office equipment.
