Responsibilities
This position performs routine maintenance duties including rough carpentry, painting, and basic equipment or facility repairs. All carpentry, electrical work, or simple plumbing repairs are performed under supervision by qualified personnel.
Repairs and maintains machinery, mechanical equipment, refrigeration systems, HVAC systems and control systems in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals and manufacturer's specifications, using hand and power tools and precision measuring and testing instruments
Keeps records of equipment repairs and maintenance.
Observe mechanical devices (pumps, engines, compressors, motors, conveyor systems, laboratory equipment)
or control systems in operation. Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments and systems.
- Prepares surfaces for painting and finishing; applies undercoats and finish coats; mixes and matches paints
and finishes.
Builds cabinets, shelves and specialty items for departments, including plastics and plastic laminates from provided blueprints or self-generated sketches.
Make general repairs to the facility including furniture systems, room’s fixtures and associated equipment.
Designs, codes keying system for individual departments. Repairs and cuts keys.
May be required to work extended hours in case of an emergency
Qualifications
High School/GED
Two (2) years of related work experience
Basic carpentry and mechanical knowledge
Ability to demonstrate correct use of chemicals, supplies and tools assigned
Computer literate
Must have ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE)
Physical abilities; such as lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing, and squatting
Pay Range
$18.83 - $25.89 /hour
