Job Description:

As the Senior Principal Agile Program Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Defining and delivering customer business value

  • Leading the coordination of multiple Agile areas and Architects as they work together on a program

  • Coordinating roadmaps and schedules to available capacity

  • Identifying resource needs and budgets among several initiatives

  • Managing dependencies and risk for the area of expertise

  • Manage the communications across the teams and to ensure that information is flowing up and down at the appropriate time

  • Monitoring for impediments that arise

Plans and oversees execution of business architecture-driven initiatives while ensuring necessary functionality and flexibility aligned with the company's long term objectives. Oversees execution on strategy and pipeline of projects and integration management. Actively manages and escalates risk and customer-impacting issues within the day-to-day role to management.

Responsibilities

  • Organizes and enables collaboration and partnership across cross-functional teams, with internal and external partners, executes on strategy and architecture-driven initiatives. Drives or assists with communications on strategic initiatives to help drive consensus, achieve clarity, and solve business problems. Provides oversight and process guidance for activities.

  • Drives or assists research and/or brainstorming sessions. Helps promote a culture of innovation within the department. Translates ideas and concepts into executable projects.

  • Provides leadership and guidance to teams/business units where there is no clear organizational ownership yet defined or where products/technology is not yet institutionalized or adopted.

  • Mentors and assists more junior team members.

  • Understands and tracks technology trends and strategies in area of responsibility. Represents Discover when working with external parties.

Minimum Qualifications

At a minimum, here’s what we need from you:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Continuous Improvement, Business, or related field

  • 8+ years of experience in Project Management, or related experience

  • In lieu of a degree, 10+ years of experience in Project Management, or related experience

Preferred Qualifications

If we had our say, we’d also look for:

  • Previous expertise in financial services

  • Product delivery experience in one or more of the following areas: Debit Gateway Products, Debit Disputes Products, Debit Authorization Capabilities, Debit Settlement Capabilities, Debit Transaction Testing, or Debit Transactional Data Analytics

  • AGILE experience

Compensation:

The base pay for this position generally ranges between $103,000.00 to $174,200.00. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
