ABM Industries Sr. Facility Manager in Houston, Texas

Overview

The Sr. Facility Manager role is accountable for cultivating and maintaining optimal client relationships through Integrated Facility Solutions (IFS) management for a designated site, in a cost-effective manner. A strong leader of people who is process oriented; ensures conformance to ISO, FDA, and cGMP clean room operations and contract requirements; is an influencer of people who is able to effectively lead through delegation, motivation, and accountability. This role is also responsible for positively impacting account gross profit redemption, client reports, quality control, customer satisfaction as well as up-sell opportunities for all ABM service lines. Individual is responsible for delivering a high level of customer service through the timely completion of work orders assigned to ABM service groups. This role oversees three major operations: facility services, cleaning operations (cGMP and non-cGMP), and contract management.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Ensures safe work practices and leads the safety program.

  • Responsible for developing the team into a group of leaders and effective problem solvers.

  • Provide effective leadership, inspiring the team to exceed assigned quality and cost savings goals and to progress along their career path.

  • Lead in accordance with the company’s policies and applicable laws.

  • Through effective leadership, delegation, and oversite, delivers a comprehensive preventive and reactive maintenance management program.

  • Coordinate maintenance activities for assigned buildings and manufacturing suites. Ensure that services are performed as contracted and at the intended profit margins.

  • Oversees the use of multiple client and ABM CMMS/Work Order Systems.

  • Effectively manages vendor/sub-contractor work, ensuring compliance with the quality and safety standards of ABM and the client.

  • Interact with customers daily to obtain feedback on services and special needs. Troubleshoot potential problems and concerns.

  • Ensures all work is following Quality Assurance and Quality Control requirements.

  • Develop operational improvement plans and implements process changes to increase efficiency of team and help the account to meet aggressive cost savings goals.

  • Effectively manage a multimillion-dollar operational expense budget with the goal of achieving cost savings goals and increasing revenue.

  • Analyze financial, work order and other data – implementing action plans, based on trending.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS *

Qualifications – Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or equivalent technical curriculum.

  • Minimum of 10 years proven leadership experience.

  • Proven ability to lead, train and develop team members.

  • Proven experience building and maintaining professional working relationships.

  • Effective change management leader.

  • Highly effective verbal and non-verbal communicator.

  • Able to act independently and decisively focusing on safety, detail, and compliance.

  • Well versed in Emotional Quotient (EQ) practices.

  • Ability to analyze and understand P&L, financial, work order and other data.

  • Understand and respond appropriately to client and customer inquiries and/or issues.

  • Ability utilize ABM and client technology as necessary for job success.

  • Read, write, and communicate using English language sufficient to perform job functions.

Qualifications – Other Skills, Abilities & Knowledge

  • Proven understanding of cGMP operations and processes.

  • Effectively manage confidential data, and professional work with colleagues in establishing and adhering to data governance standards.

  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments, be able to manage and work to bring clarity through ambiguity and complexity and support multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Highly responsive to business needs.

  • Experience working in a regulated industry subject to compliance and audit practices.

  • Ability to speak Spanish preferred.

Organizational Relationships

  • Reports to the National Account Director, and on-site reporting to Director, Operations, but interacts with client and local team directly on a daily basis.

  • Supervises 5-8 Direct Reports and has oversight for roughly 100 onsite resources.
