City of Hubbard Parks and Recreation Board 220 W Liberty St Hubbard, OH 44425 Position Description/Job Title: *Seasonal Maintenance Worker - Hubbard Parks and Recreation. This position is seasonal for the 2024 Season and is subject to annual contract renewal. The 2024 Season begins 4/15/2024 and ends on 10/25/2024. *Compensation: The Hubbard Parks and Recreation Maintenance Worker will be paid $14 per hour and is limited to no more than 32 hours per week. Seasonal employment will not exceed 1200 hours of work in any one calendar year. Objective: The Hubbard Parks and Recreation Maintenance Worker is responsible for maintaining each Hubbard City Park by performing landscaping, building maintenance, property and facility clean up, and minor repairs to Park Property and Equipment. Organizational Relationships: The Parks and Recreations Maintenance Worker reports directly to the Hubbard Parks and Recreation Board. Supervising of volunteers and subordinatates may be required. Job Duties: Any and all maintenance required by Hubbard City Parks, to include, but not be limited to the following:

  • Operation of tractors, vechicles and equipment
  • Utilize a variety of hand powered tools in park landscaping and maintenance work
  • Assist in routine maintenance of equipment
  • Operation of a string trimmer and attachments, Operation of a lawn mower and attachments
  • Preparation and maintenance of athletic fields
  • Cleaning of restrooms
  • Litter removal
  • Mowing, watering, trimming and fertilizing of lawns
  • Light pruning of trees and shrubs, raking and removing leaves, brush and debris
  • Cleaning walkways to fields, courts and other facilities
  • Safe application of herbicide, fungicide and pesticides and maintaining a record of those use
  • Performing manual labor including: moderate lifting, stooping and twisting
  • Minor repairs of damaged or broken park property

Required Knowledge and Skills and Abilities Knowledge of use and purposes of general construction tools and equipment and safe work practices. Ability to perform unskilled and semi-skilled tasks in a variety of construction and maintenance activities. The ability to perform heavy manual labor, operate a variety of construction and maintenance equipment is required. The ability to understand and carry out oral and written directions, and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work is required. Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent. Must possess a vaild motor vehicle operator's license.
