TEIJIN Automotive Inc. Truck Driver in Huntington, Indiana

This role requires a strong commitment to safety, punctuality, and adherence to company policies and regulatory guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transport Automotive Parts: Safely operate company trucks to transport automotive parts and components to and from manufacturing plants, warehouses, and customer locations.
  • Adherence to Routes and Schedules: Follow assigned routes and time schedules to ensure timely delivery and pick-up of goods.
  • Load and Unload Cargo: Assist in loading and unloading automotive parts, ensuring secure and safe handling to prevent damage.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Perform routine inspections and maintenance of the truck, including checking oil, tires, lights, and brakes. Report any mechanical issues to the maintenance team promptly.
  • Compliance with Regulations: Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations regarding transportation and vehicle operations, including maintaining a valid CDL and other required endorsements.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including delivery receipts, vehicle logs, and mileage records.
  • Safety Practices: Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with customers, addressing any issues or concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Problem Solving: Handle unexpected situations such as traffic, weather, and mechanical issues with calm and effective problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a commercial truck driver, preferably in the automotive industry.
  • Licensing: Valid Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with a clean driving record and any required endorsements.
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of traffic laws and regulations.
    • Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety.
    • Ability to operate manual and automatic transmission vehicles.
    • Proficient in using GPS and other navigation tools.
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to handle physical workload, including lifting heavy items.
    • Problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Work Environment:
    • Willingness to work long hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays if necessary.
    • Ability to drive in various weather conditions.
    • Familiarity with the geographic area of operation.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and move heavy items up to 50 pounds.
  • Extended periods of sitting and driving.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as bending, lifting, and climbing.
