Boeing’s Advanced Design and Prototype Solutions (ADaPS) organization in Huntsville, AL is looking for senior software developers to develop or modify embedded software for missile defense systems, and simulations for missile defense systems. The selected candidate will be a senior developer and may be required to develop networked, secure, multiprocessing software architectures for modern fielded systems. The candidate will develop requirements including software system requirements, will develop architectures/designs/operating environment implementations. The candidate will prototype deployment architectures for missile defense portfolios.
ADaPS (an organization of over 100 engineers ) supports programs across the entire portfolio of Boeing products including Space Launch Systems (SLS) Upper Stage, Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD - missile defense), Commercial Space Crew Transportation System (CST-100), and Advanced Missile Defense efforts including Patriot Advanced Capability. ADaPS specializes in executing rapid prototyping and development programs utilizing small, responsive Agile teams. The selected candidates will join a team developing distributed simulations of very complex missile or rocket systems. This role will have emphasis on modelling and supporting design/integration of navigation, propulsion and sensing systems.
The successful candidate will be responsible for activities including but not limited to:
Work collaboratively with software engineering to develop our test framework and code modules.
Help automate and streamline our operations and processes that support continuous integration/testing/delivery, including script development
Build and maintain tools for deployment, monitoring and operations
Troubleshoot and resolve issues in our develop, test and production environments
Our team is looking for a senior level Software Engineer / Architect candidate who is systematic, open-minded, accurate, team-oriented, and well-organized.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. (Huntsville, AL)
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):
Ability to obtain secret clearance
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or other technical degree
15+ years’ experience in real-time, near real-time, or embedded systems
Some experience with RF sensor systems/Radar or Communication Systems
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Master’s Degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
Experience in missile defense applications with interceptors, radars, C2, or communications
Experience with LINUX or VXworks
Experience with DevSecOps (examples ansible, chef, cyber applications)
Experience with message based architectures, multi-threading architectures, or virtual machines.
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience).
In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
