Assembly Engineer

Job Description

Will be responsible for keeping the assembly lines moving, continuous improvement projects, lean manufacturing, and troubleshooting/modifying PLC's. They will perform time studies, labor studies, defect reduction studies, process control changes, and cost-saving projects to ensure their line is running as efficiently as possible. This individual will need experience with tightening tools, robotics, PLC's, vision systems (Keyence/Cognex), machine-to-machine communication, and testing equipment (leak test, engine testing, and vibration analysis). This is a very hands-on position directly supporting the assembly process. We are looking for someone eager and willing to take ownership of the process.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering

  • 3+ years experience in an automotive manufacturing environment

  • PLC troubleshooting (Allen Bradley preferred)

  • Vision Systems (Cognex and Keyence)

  • Robot/Cobot experience (Universal or Fanuc)

  • Machine-to-machine communication

  • Testing equipment (leak test, engine testing, vibration analysis)

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Huntsville, Alabama.
