SAIC Senior Missile Electronics Engineer in HUNTSVILLE, Alabama
SAIC is searching for a senior Missile Electronics Engineer to support the Missile Defense Agency’s (MDA) Ground Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Program efforts and provide Ground Systems engineering support directly related to the Next Generation Interceptor (NGI) project offices electronics design engineering, guidance and navigation technologies and engineering documentation. The selected candidate will support NGI development and delivery activities in accordance with the standard Systems Engineering Lifecycle of a program.
Execute product-engineering functions focusing on theNGI avionics packages, power, grounding, and guidance and navigationtechnologies – evaluating designs, requirements, survivability, andfailure-review process.
Support Systems Engineering Milestone Reviews, boardsand working level meetings by assisting in developing agendas and content,comprehending action items, and assisting in resolving issues as required,tracking actions to completion, providing meeting summaries, capturinglessons learned and any other duties as needed by the Government Customer.
Review and provide comments on assigned PrimeContractor/Government Objective Evidence (OE) for major reviews,Comprehend current and future architecture and understand systemrequirements and interfaces
Apply critical thinking analytical/engineering skillsand problem-solving methodology to assigned tasks, to identify theproblem, determine courses of action, develop paths ahead for taskcompletion, and formulate recommendations.
Assist in the development of Executive level briefings,papers, and other correspondence,
Support the Government Integrated Product Team byrepresenting the interests of the Customer in working group forums,Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs), and any other forums required by thecustomer.
Identify, define and characterize development-relatedprogrammatic and technical risks, provide the evidence-based rationale forthis and recommend mitigation for informed management decisions.
Perform missile component Integration and system timinganalysis; Support Warfighter coordination and integration; Work withcomponent developers to review and assess verification plans for NGIcomponents including support equipment, facilities, and interfaces toother system elements.
BS Degree in ElectricalEngineering, Systems Engineering, or related technical field
8+ years ofrelated experience preferably with MDA engineering programs
Electrical engineering experience inthe area of avionics and/or weapon system electrical systems
Familiarity and experience withmissile component development, test, production, and integration.
Familiarity with electronics designfor survivability along with survivability testing
Proficient inMicrosoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Solidtechnical writing and presentation development capability
